Six kinds of fence, one crew, one valley

We have been setting posts in Treasure Valley ground since 1972, which means we know where the caliche starts, which lots need a rackable panel and which neighbor is going to want to talk about the property line.

Cedar Fence

Dog eared, board on board, picture frame, horizontal and three rail cedar, with lattice tops and stepped runs where the ground falls away. The most common privacy fence in the valley, and the one we build most.

Fence repair across the Treasure Valley

Why Robell / 02

Fifty years of fence in one valley

The name is a combination of our two founders, Robinson and Bell, who ran the company from 1972 until the mid 2000s. Chris Taylor bought it twelve years ago and grew it the slow way, on repeat customers and referrals. We are now training the fourth generation of the family to build fence.

That history is the whole pitch. We are not a crew that formed last spring and will be gone by fall. When a gate we hung in 2009 starts to sag, you can call the same number and get the same company.

  • Bids walked and measured in person by the owner, not estimated off a satellite photo
  • Our own crews on your property, coordinated by a project manager who shows up
  • Tear down, haul off and disposal of the old fence built into the bid price
  • Fence repairs taken with no job minimum, including single panels and gate hardware
  • Stain and weatherproofing offered on new and existing cedar, with color options

What customers say

The heavy winds broke the latch off of our gate today, and I was so stressed out that our dogs would get out. I called these guys and not only did they answer their phone, which was their first win, but he told me he could get someone out within the next hour.

Ashley Rupert

Chris and his guys took excellent care of us from start to finish. Next time I need fence work done, I know who I will be contacting.

Logan Bradley

This is the 2nd time we have used Robell and will call back for our next fence needs. Chris and team are quick to respond, listen to what our needs and budget are, then get the job done as scheduled.

Fence questions we get from Boise homeowners

These are the questions that come up on almost every call. If yours is not here, ask us on the phone at (208) 344-1351 and you will get a straight answer.

Do you install fence in Boise and the surrounding cities?

Yes. We work out of Kuna and install fence across Boise, Meridian, Nampa, Caldwell, Star and Middleton, and we cross the state line into Ontario, Oregon. If your address sits between those towns, call and ask. We cover most of Ada and Canyon County.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes. Robell Fence is licensed and insured in Idaho, and the crews on your property are our people, not day labor. We have carried the same name and the same standards since 1972.

What does a new fence cost in the Treasure Valley?

It depends on material, total footage, how the ground sits and how many gates you need. Dog eared cedar is usually the lowest cost per foot, and ornamental iron and custom work sit at the top. Estimates are free and itemized, so you can see what each part costs before you commit. Call (208) 344-1351 and we will come measure.

Do you take small repair jobs?

Yes, and there is no minimum. A broken gate latch, a section of wind damaged panel, a leaning post or a rotted bottom rail are all normal calls for us. Several of our repair customers came back later for a whole fence.

Do you remove the old fence?

We do, and the fee is built into the bid rather than added at the end. Old panels, posts, concrete footings and debris all leave with our crew when the job is done.

How long does a fence installation take?

Most residential yards in Boise and Meridian go up in one to three days once the material is on site. Utility locates, weather and gate fabrication are the usual reasons a job runs longer, and we will tell you up front if yours is one of them.
